10940 Frankstown Rd – Vehicle Accident With Rollover

On Friday, in the early morning hours Station 225 & 227 were alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover.  PHPD arrived on scene and confirmed the rollover with one still trapped in the vehicle.  227RQ arrived on scene and stabilized the vehicle.  The door was opened and crews assisted the patient to EMS.

129 Kings Dale Rd – Residential Structure Fire

On January 6th around 9 a.m. Stations 122, 137, 153, 302, and 303 were alerted for a reported house on fire. Churchill PD and 122 Chief arrived on scene reporting heavy fire coming from the rear of the house. Immediately 122 Chief requested his 2nd alarm to the scene, bringing 135, 196, 207, 225, 227, and 304. Crews from all companies worked together non stop for over 3 hours battling frigid temperatures and a snow storm to bring the fire under control. Allegheny County fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

On Thursday, Station 227 was alerted for five (5) calls for service on Christmas day.  Without hesitation, members left their loved ones and responded to all the calls.

6 Calls For Service On Christmas Eve

On Wednesday, Station 227 had six (6) calls for service.  Thank you to all the members that took time out of their day to staff the equipment.

381 Whittier Dr – Residential Structure Fire

On Tuesday Stations 227, 226, 223, 222, 196 were alerted for a residential structure fire, the resident reporting a fire in the basement.  227 AST arrived on scene with smoke showing.  227EN arrived on scene and secured a water supply.  Crews made entry into the basement and quickly extinguished the fire.  222EN & 223EN arrived on scene and assisted with salvage, ventilation, and checking for any other hot spots.  The Penn Hills Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

3899 Old Wm Penn Hwy – Commercial Structure Fire

On Monday, Stations 227, 226, 223, 222, 196 were alerted for a commercial structure fire at the Sunoco Gas Station.  227 Chief arrived on scene with smoke showing.  Truck 227 arrived on scene and took a position in the front of the building.  Crews entered the building to find the fire.  Exterior crews started laddering the build and setting up for aerial operations.  227TK’s crew found the fire and pulled an attack line and extinguished the fire.  226EN stood by the hydrant.  Crews from 223 & 222 assisted with ventilation and overhaul.  196RQ stood by for RIT.  The fire was quickly brought under control with minimal damage to the building.  The Penn Hills Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

81.3 I376 West Bound – Vehicle Fire

On Thursday, Stations 227 & 195 were alerted for a vehicle fire at the 81.3 Mile Marker of I-376 Westbound.  Units arrived on scene to find a vehicle fully involved with part of the hillside on fire.  Units Extinguished the fires and reminded on scene for traffic control till PSP removed the vehicle.

1915 Leechburg Rd – Vehicle Into Pole

On Tuesday afternoon, Stations 223, 222, 227 were alerted for a vehicle into a structure with unknown injuries.  223EN arrived on scene and found one vehicle into a pole.  All other units were cancelled.  The roadway was closed down for about 3 hours.

Frankstown Rd @ Long Rd – Vehicle Fire

On Tuesday morning, Stations 227 & 225 were alerted for a vehicle on fire at the intersection.  227CHF arrived on scene reporting box truck on fire with engine compartment & passenger compartment involvement.  227EN arrived on scene and crews stretched attack lines.  Crews discovered the truck was hauling pallets.  There was minor extension to the pallets.  No injuries were reported.

10918 Frankstown Rd – Smoke In The Structure

On Wednesday evening, Stations 225 & 227 were alerted for a commercial fire alarm at the Penn Arbors Apartments. While units were en route, Allegheny County 911 received additional calls for smoke on the 6th floor. Truck 227 arrived on scene and crews proceeded to the 6th floor. Truck 227 was set up for aerial operations. Engine 227 arrived and staged at the hydrant. Engine 225 arrive and staged at the Fire Department connections. Units reported light smoke on the 6th floor. Upon further investigation crews found burnt food. The floor was ventilated and units returned.
