300-blk Duff Rd – Residential Structure Fire

On Sunday shortly before midnight, Stations 227, 222, 223, 225, 196 were alerted for a garage on fire in the 300-blk of Duff Rd. 227TK arrived on scene to find smoke showing from the garage. Crews located a small fire in the garage. It was quickly extinguished the fire with two (2) water cans. 196 arrived and was staged for RIT. Crews from 222 and 223 checked for extension, none was found. 225 assisted with ventilation. The Penn Hills Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

Webster @ Universal – Vehicle vs. Utility Pole

Shortly before 3:00am on Wednesday, Station 227 & 223 were alerted to the intersection of Webster Dr @ Universal Rd for a vehicle into a utility pole. 227RQ arrived on scene to find a single vehicle accident with a utility pole down and a live power line down. 227 crew checked for injuries, the operator of the vehicle fled the scene on foot prior to PHPD arriving on scene. 223EN arrived on scene and assisted with debris and fluid clean up.

800-blk Beulah Rd – Vehicle Into Utility Pole

On Monday, Stations 227 and 225 were alerted for a vehicle into a utility pole in the 800-blk of Beulah Rd. 227CHF arrived on scene with a single vehicle accident with a utility down. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. Duquesne Light was notified. The roadway was shut down for a few hours while the utility pole was repaired.

10986 Frankstown Rd – Structure Fire

On Saturday, Stations 225, 227, 222, 223, 285 were alerted for a vehicle on fire inside an attached garage. PHPD advised smoke and fire showing. 227TK arrived on scene and crew deployed attack lines. 227EN secured a water supply. Crews from 225TK and 285EN went to the roof for ventilation. 222 and 223 assisted with attack lines. Command requested 196EN2 to assist with foam. The fire was brought under control in about 30mins. Penn Hills Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

Frankstown @ Long – Vehicle vs Motorcycle

On Friday evening Stations 227, 223, 222 were alerted for a vehicle vs. motorcycle at the intersection of Long and Frankstown. 227RQ arrived on scene and found the operator of the motorcycle down on ground. The patient was conscious and alert and was treated by 227RQ’s crew. 223EN arrived on scene and assists with fluid and debris clean up. The intersection was closed for about 40mins. The operator of the motorcycle was transported to a local trauma center. PHPD is investigating the cause of the accident.

800-blk Lime Hollow Rd – Vehicle Into Pole

On Monday evening Stations 227 & 223 were alerted for vehicle into a utility pole in the 800-blk of Lime Hollow Rd. 227RQ arrived on scene and found one vehicle into a utility pole. A small engine compartment fire was extinguished. All occupants were out of the vehicle. PHEMS evaluated the operator of the vehicle. PHPD is investigating the cause of the accident.

11625 Penn Hills Dr – Dryer Fire

Just before 2:30am, Stations 227, 222, 223, 225, 196 were alerted for a dryer on fire inside the Penn Hills Laundromat. 227 Chief arrived on scene with smoke showing and found a small fire inside a dryer. The fire was knocked down with an extinguisher. 222EN arrived on scene and crews extinguished the rest of the smoldering items. 227EN arrived and started ventilation. 223EN and 225TK were staged on scene. Penn Hills Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

Universal @ Hazel – Accident W/Entrapment

On Wednesday afternoon, Station 227 & 222 were requested to assist PHEMS & WHEMS at the intersection of Universal Rd at Hazel Dr with a single vehicle accident with entrapment. 227RQ arrived on scene and EMS requested the door be open for better patient access. 222EN arrived on scene and both crews assisted getting the door opened. The patient was assisted out of the vehicle and into the awaiting ambulance. The patient was transported with non-life threatening injuries.

Shortly before 2:30am, Stations 227, 223, 222 were alerted for a single vehicle accident, vehicle into a utility pole in the 400-blk of Thompson Run Rd. PHPD arrived on scene and reported the driver unresponsive. 227RQ and PHEMS arrived on scene and started patient stabilization. 223EN arrived and both crews assisted getting the patient loaded into the ambulance. The driver was transported to a local trauma center. PHPD is investigating the cause of the accident.
