Lime Hollow/Springdale Road – Wires fire/aching/unk danger

At 12:22pm on Saturday station 223 & 227 were dispatched for wires down in the area. 227 arrived on scene finding a large tree over a hillside which laid rest on power and cable lines. 227 returned 223 back in service as flares and road blocks were handled by 227 units. The utilities companies were notified and placed on scene. All units returned back in service

Long Rd Pump Station – Commerical Structure Fire

On Friday Stations 227 & 225 were alerted for a fire alarm at Long Rd Pump Station. 227 Chief arrived on scene with smoke showing from one of the pump houses. The alarm was upgraded bringing 222, 223, 196 to the call. 227TK arrived on scene and forced entry to the front door. Crews pulled an attack line and proceeded 3 stories below grade to the fire. 225EN arrived on scene and crew assisted the interior crews and established a water supply to 227TK. The power was isolated to the building. Crews found an industrial pump motor on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished. Crews from 223 and 227 started ventilation. The ACFM is investigating the cause of the fire.

741 Cedarwood Dr – Kitchen Fire

On Thursday, Stations 223, 226, 227 were alerted for a kitchen on fire at 741 Cedarwood Dr. PHPD arrived on scene with smoke showing. All occupants were out of the house. 223EN & 226EN arrived on scene and crews pulled attack lines and quickly extinguished the fire. 227TK arrived and started ventilation. ACFM is investigating the cause of the fire. Two patients were transport to a local hospital with smoke inhalation.

803 MacBeth Dr – Smoke In The Structure

On Tuesday Station 227 & 226 were alerted for a fire alarm activation.  227EN arrived on scene and the homeowner reported smoke in the basement.  The alarm was upgraded adding 222, 223, 196.  226EN arrived on scene and stood by the hydrant.  Upon further investigation, crews found the security system main box was smoking.  Powers was isolated and all units returned.

480-blk Coal Hollow Rd – (Double Fatal) Accident w/Entrapment

On Monday Evening, Station 222 was alerted to the 480-blk of Coal Hollow Rd for an accident with entrapment. PHPD & PHEMS arrived on scene and reported heavy entrapment of 2 patients. 222RQ requested 227 & 223 be added to the call. 222RQ arrived on scene and started stabilizing the vehicles. 227RQ arrived on scene and crews started removing the roof of the vehicle and drivers side door. 223EN assisted with extraction and patient care. 3 patients were transported to different trauma centers. Despite the best efforts of all responders, two patients succumbed to their injuries. The accident is under investigation by the PHPD.

117 Keefer Dr – Dryer Fire

On Thursday evening, 226, 227, 223, 222 were alerted for a dryer on fire.  227TK & 227RQ arrived on scene with light smoke showing from the garage.  226EN stood by the hydrant. 227 investigated and found a dryer on fire in the basement.  Crews extinguished the fire and started ventilation.  The fire was contained to the dryer.  All other units were cancelled.

7900-blk Lincoln Rd – Residential Structure Fire

On Sunday evening, Stations 221, 222, 225, 227, 137 were alerted for a house on fire in the 7900-blk of Lincoln Rd. 221EN2 arrived on scene and confirmed smoke and flames from the 2nd floor. Crews went defensive till 222EN established a water supply to 221EN2. 227TK & 227EN arrived and crews started laddering the building. Crews had the fire knocked down quickly and checked for hot spots. No injuries were reported. PHFM is investigating the cause of the fire.

381 LOTT RD – MVA (atv) with multiple injuries

Sunday afternoon stations 226 & 227 were alarted for a motor vehicle accident involving an ATV . PHPD arrived on scene with PHEMS confirming two injuried individuals. 227 service and utility arrived on scene assisting EMS with patient care and packaging along with transport to a nearby ambulance. Patients were transported to local trama center all units returned back In service

9800 Frankstown Rd – Acc w/injs Veh on Fire

At the start of rush hour, Stations 225 & 227 were alerted for a vehicle into a utility pole. While units were responding, AC911 stated the occupants of the vehicle were out of the vehicle and the vehicle and pole were on fire. 227 Chief had an additional Engine added to the assignment bringing 221 to the call. Crews from 225 & 227 had a quick knock down of the fire. Additional crew from 227 & 221 started patient care. The patient was transported to a local trauma center with serious injuries.
