7000-blk Saltsburg – Vehicle Rollover

On Saturday afternoon, Stations 223, 227, 222 were alerted for a motor vehicle accident with rollover in the 7000-blk of Saltsburg Rd. PHPD arrived on scene with on vehicle that hit a utility pole and was on its side split in half. Rescue companies arrived on scene and the operator was assisted out of the vehicle and was transported to a local trauma center for evaluation. PHPD is investigating the cause of the accident

2100 Universal Rd – Physical Rescue

On Friday morning, shortly after 1:00am Stations 226 & 227 were alerted for a patient that was found 30ft over a hillside in a stream. 227 Chief made patient contact with PHPD. 227RQ arrived on scene. Crews started to stage rope rescue equipment. The patient was loaded into a stokes basket and safely removed from the hillside. Patient was transferred to Plum EMS. The condition of the patient is not known at this time.

280-blk Evaline St – Residential Structure Fire

Shortly before noon on Tuesday, Stations 225, 221, 227, 222, 285 were alerted for a residential structure fire in the 280-blk of Evaline St. 221EN arrived on scene with smoke showing. 225TK secured a water supply to 221EN. 227TK laddered the building and proceeded to the roof for ventilation. 222EN assisted with ventilation. 285EN crew arrived on scene and assisted interior crews checking for any extension. Penn Hills Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

192 Sandy Creek Rd – Commercial Structure Fire

Shortly after 2:30am, Stations 222, 225, 221 were alerted for a commercial building on fire in the 200-blk of Sandy Creek Rd. PHPD arrived on scene and confirmed fire from the front and side of the building. Crews from all companies started to contain the fire. 222AST requested a 2nd alarm bringing 227EN to the fire. Crews worked for about one hour till the fire was brought under control. Penn Hills Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

Alcoma On The Green – Commercial Structure Fire

On Saturday evening shortly before midnight, Stations 223, 226, 227 were alerted for a commercial fire alarm at Alcoma On The Green. While units were enroute, AC911 started getting additional calls reporting smoke on the 3rd and 5th floor. 226EN & 227TK arrived on scene and tenants started reporting an apartment on fire on the 3rd floor. 223CHF requested 222, 224, 225, 285 to the scene. 227TK crew located the apartment on fire. 227TK & 223EN crew were able to extinguish the fire with 2 water cans. Crews from 222 and 224 started ventilation. Crews found no extension. PHFM is investigating the cause of the fire. One firefighter was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

300-blk Parkridge Dr – Vehicle Into Structure

Shortly before 10:30am, Rescue Companies from 227, 223, 222 were alerted for a vehicle into a structure as a result of a police vehicle pursuit. The five (5) actors bailed out of the moving vehicle and four (4) fled the scene. One (1) actor female was found injured in the street. The vehicle rolled down the street and hit a vacant structure. Rescue Companies re-supported and stabilized a load bearing column. Penn Hills Police are investigating.

Saltsburg @ Rosedale – Accident w/Impalement

On Wednesday morning, shortly after 5 AM St.222 was alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Rosedale St at Saltsburg Rd. 222CHF arrived on scene and confirmed entrapment and the driver was impaled by a metal fence post requesting 227RQ be added to call.  222 units stabilized the patient till medics arrived on scene.  227RQ arrived on scene, both rescue crews made simultaneous cuts to the pipe with a reciprocating saw.  The impaled section of pipe was secured and the patient was transported to a local trauma center for surgery.
