70-blk Allegheny River Blvd – Accident w/Poss Entrapment

On Thursday shortly before 5pm, Stations 285, 222, 227 were alerted for a two (2) vehicle accident with entrapment in the 70-blk of Allegheny River Blvd. AC911 started receiving multiple calls of the accident reporting one of the vehicles on the railroad tracks. VPD arrived on scene confirmed the vehicle was not on the tracks, and there were four (4) injuries. 227RQ arrived on scene and started patient triage. 285EN & 222RQ assisted with patient care and traffic control. Units remained on scene for about one (1) hour till the roadway was reopened.

550-blk Dixie Dr – Garage Fire

Shortly before 11pm on Sunday, Stations 227, 222, 223, 225, 196 were alerted for flames coming from a detached garage in the 550-blk of Dixie Dr. PHPD arrived on scene with smoke and flames showing. 227EN arrived on scene and established a water supply. Crews took an attack line to the entrance of the garage and started extinguishing the flames. Crews from 225TK started to vent the roof. All companies assisted with ventilation and overhaul. The PHFM is investigating the cause of the fire.

300-blk Stotler Rd – Vehicle Into Utility Pole

On Thursday morning, Stations 227, 223, 222 were alerted for a single vehicle accident with a utility pole and wires down.  227RQ arrived on scene with a utility pole and wire down.  The driver was able to exit the vehicle under their own power.  222RQ and 223MP arrived on scene and assisted with traffic control.  Duquesne Light was notified.  The roadway was closed for a few hours while crews replaced the damaged utility pole.

412 W. Hutchinson Ave, EWD – Smoke In The Structure (RIT)

On Wednesday, shortly before 1pm. Stations 137, 278, 207, 153, 227 were alerted for an electrical condition with smoke seen inside on 412 West Hutchinson Ave in Edgewood. 137EN and 278 EN arrived on scene with moderate smoke inside the structure. 278EN deployed a dry attack line. Exterior crews secured a water supply to 278EN. 227RQ & 227EN arrived on scene and was assigned Rapid Intervention (RIT). Crews quickly found a section of wire that had caught fire. The power was isolated and the house was ventilated. Crews were released and went back into service.

800-blk Beulah Rd – Vehicle Rollover

On Saturday evening, shortly after 11:30pm Stations 225 & 227 were alerted for a vehicle rollover in the area of Penny Dr & Beulah Rd. PHPD arrived on scene and confirmed the rollover was in Churchill. St.122 was added to the call. 227CHF arrived on scene. To find a single vehicle on its roof, the driver was able to exit the vehicle under their own power and refused medical treatment. 225EN & 122RQ provided traffic control and 227RQ provided lighting for the tow. The roadway was blocked for about an hour.

20 Melvin Ct – Vehicle Over Hillside

On Wednesday morning, Stations 225 & 227 were alerted to the 20-blk of Melvin Ct for a vehicle over a hill. 227EN arrived on scene with PHPD & PHEMS to find a vehicle over a hill with the driver still in the vehicle. The driver was assisted out of the vehicle to awaiting PHEMS and was transport to a local hospital. PHPD is investigating the cause of the accident.

68 Pride Rd – Residential Structure Fire

On Tuesday evening, shortly after 6:00pm Stations 225, 221, 227, 222, 285 were alerted for a residential structure fire at 68 Pride Rd.  221EN arrived on scene with smoke showing.  227EN secured the water supply.  Crews from all companies work fast to contain the fire within 20mins.  The PHFM is investigating the cause of the fire.

8000-blk Mark Dr – Residential Structure Fire

Shortly before 3:30am Stations 221, 225, 227, 196, 137 were alerted for a house on fire in the 8000-blk of Mark Dr. 221EN arrived on scene with smoke showing and requested the next unit secure a water supply. 227TK secured the water supply to 221EN. Crews from 221EN reported a good knock down on the fire. 225TK & 227TK started ventilation and checked for extension. None was found. The homeowner was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The PH Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

2750 Robinson Blvd – Commercial Structure Fire

On Sunday morning shortly after 2:15am, Stations 225, 221, 227, 222, 285 were alerted for smoke in the hallway at 2750 Robinson Blvd. Additional reports from AC911 and PHPD reported a fire in the basement. 221EN arrived on scene with smoke showing from the front of the building. Crew advanced an attack line into the building. 225TK arrived on scene an was positioned in the rear of the building. 227TK secured a water supply to 221EN. 227TK crew was sent to the basement to assist 221. 225, 222, 285 began ventilation and secondary searches in each apartment. Crew operated on scene for about 2 Hours. Damage to the power service lines resulted in terminating power to the entire building. The PHFM is investigating the cause of the fire.
