11979 Frankstown Rd – Apartment Fire

On Saturday afternoon stations 227, 223, 222, 226, 196 were alerted for a possible commercial structure fire on the sixth (6) floor of Penn Towers Apartment Building.  Truck 227 arrived on scene and crews quickly discovered a sixth floor apartment on fire.  227TK started a primary search.  Search crews were slowed by large amounts of trash and debris in the apartment.  Crews were able to find the apartment resident and evacuate them to the stairwells and transferred patient care to PH EMS.  223EN secured a water supply and connected to the stand pipe.  All units assisted with extinguishment and ventilation.  All units did a fantastic job.  Two (2) patients were transported to local hospitals with non-life threating injures.  ACFM is investigating the cause.

7805 Mt. Carmel Rd – Residential Structure

On Tuesday afternoon, Stations 221, 222, 225, 227,102 were alerted for a residential structure, caller reporting a possible fire in the walls.  221EN1 arrived on scene with nothing showing.  Crews discovered a small fire in the kitchen wall.  The incident was held to 221, 222, and 102.  All other fire units were cancelled.

732 Valemont Dr – Residential Structure Fire

On Tuesday morning, at 08:55, Stations 224,223 & 222 were alerted for a residential structure fire at 732 Valemont Dr in Penn Hills. Multiple calls to ACES-911 for a working structure fire, caller reporting multiple containers of R-22 freon in the garage exploding. Police on scene confirming working structure fire. EN-222 & EN-223-2 arrived on scene, crews pulling 2.5″ line and going to work in the rear. Command requesting next due alarm, bringing EN-226 & TK-227 to the scene. TK-227 arrived on scene, crews laddering the structure and venting the roof. Fire out, overhaul performed, crews remained on scene for 2 hours. Scene was turned over to the ACFM. No Injuries were reported.

1416 Blackadore Ave – Residential Structure Fire

On Friday evening, Stations 221, 222, 225, 227, 102 were alerted for a residential structure fire.  Caller reporting the attic was on fire.  Additional calls to AC911 reporting the homeowner refusing to leave the house.  221 Deputy added St.137 to the call.  PHPD arrived on scene with fire showing from the roof area.  PHPD removed the homeowner from the house.  221EN1 & 225TK arrived on scene and crews began to advance attack lines into the house.  227TK arrived on scene and assisted crew inside the structure.  227 Assistant-2 assumed command.  221EN2 secured a water supply.  102EN crew staged for RIT.  222EN1 assisted with salvage & overhaul.  221 Deputy arrived on scene and command was transferred.  Fire was brought under control within 15mins.  ACFM is investigating the cause.

421 Long Rd – Residential Structure Fire

Around 9:30pm on Monday evening, Stations 227, 222, 223, 225, 196 were alerted for a residential structure fire at 421 Long Rd.  AC911 reported the homeowner was unaccounted for.  227 Assistant-2 and PHPD arrived at the house with smoke showing.  The home owner was located and assisted out of the house by PHPD.  227 Assistant-2 knocked the fire down with an extinguisher till crews from 227 & 222 extinguished the fire.  223 secured a water supply and 225 checked for any extension. 196 units staged for RIT. The home owner was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.  ACFM is investigating.

1400-Blk Frey Rd – Vehicle Roll Over Unknown Entrapment

In the early morning Sunday hours Station 227 was alerted for a vehicle roll over with possible entrapment.  227RQ arrived on scene to find one vehicle into a jersey barrier with no entrapment.  The driver of the vehicle was apprehended while running down the street not far from the scene.

Rodi @ Stoneledge – 4 Car Accident W/Injuries

On Monday afternoon, Station 227, 222, 223 was alerted for a four (4) car accident with injuries and one vehicle on fire.  227EN arrived on scene with two (2) vehicles off to the side of the road and another (2) in the middle of the roadway.  No vehicle were on fire, just smoking.  227EN assisted PHEMS with patient care.  All other fire units were cancelled.

1400-Blk Frey Rd – Vehicle Rollover

On Monday morning, Stations 227, 223, 223 were alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover, unknown entrapment.  227RQ arrived on scene with PHPD to find a single vehicle   accident with one SUV on its side.  The driver was able to get out of the vehicle under there own power.  Due to icy road condition, 227RQ remained on scene to block the road till the vehicle could be up righted

6500-Blk Leechburg Rd – MVA W/Rollover

On Wednesday morning, Stations 223, 227, 222 were alerted for a single vehicle accident with rollover in the 6500-blk of Leechburg Rd.  223EN1 reported on scene with one vehicle on its roof.  The driver was able to get out of the vehicle under thier on power.  All other units were cancelled.

A Street @ B Street – Unknown Type Fire

On Monday afternoon, Stations 226, 227, 223 were alerted for smoke and flames in the area of “A” Street @ “B” Street.  Units found a large brush fire.  Mini Pumper 223 was used to extinguish some of the large areas still on fire.  The smaller areas were extinguished with water cans and brush broom.  PHPD is investigating.
