On Sunday shortly after 9:00 pm, stations 222, 225, and 227 were alerted for a possible apartment on fire. While units were enroute to the scene Allegheny County 911 updated units that there was a female stuck in her apartment, overcome by smoke and unable to evacuate. 227 Chief arrived on scene shortly thereafter with smoke showing from the second division of the structure. 227 Truck arrived and crews pulled a line and made entry into the building. 225 Truck arrived and crews from 225 laddered the structure. 227 Truck crew found a pot of burnt food on the stove on fire and removed it from the structure. 225 and 227 crews both made a search of the apartment and found the homeowner had been safely extricated by police. 222 and 227 Engine crews ventilated the structure. Penn Hills Fire Marshall (516FM1) was requested to the scene by command and is currently investigating the cause.

In the early morning hours on Monday, 227 Truck was requested to respond into Plum Boro for an odor of something burning inside the structure.  227TK arrived on scene and assisted 233EN & 195EN with thermal imaging camera in looking for the source.  234EN stood by the hydrant.  After further investigation the odor was identified as dust burning in the HVAC vents.  Homeowner was advised and units returned to service.

Earlier afternoon station 227 was dispatched to a vehicle accident involving a car into a structure. Penn Hills police and EMS confirmed the accident with no entrapment or injury. Station 227 assisted with structure stabilization as units awaited construction and tow companies. The car was later removed and all units returned back in service.

Friday evening, Station 227 & 223 were alerted for a two car accident with rollover.  PHPD arrived on scene confirming the crash and entrapment. 227 Chief arrived on scene and assisted PHEMS getting the door open.  227RQ arrived on scene and assisted with lightening and traffic control.  Two patients were transported to local trauma centers with non-life threatening injuries.  Frankstown Rd was closed for about 45mins.  PHPD is investigating the cause of the crash.

At about 12:45pm Tuesday, stations 223 and 227 were alerted for a single vehicle accident involving a utility pole. 223 Captain 3 arrived on scene confirming a single vehicle into the pole shearing it and came to rest over the hillside. No one was trapped in the vehicle and crews stood by on scene blocking Leechburg Rd until police and EMS could complete patient care, units cleared within half an hour.

On Thursday morning stations 225 & 221 were alerted for a vehicle on fire in the 10500-blk of Frankstown Rd.  PHPD arrived on scene and reported the vehicle to be at the intersection of Frankstown Rd @ Curtis St. Stations 227 & 222 were added to the call due to flames catching trees on fire that were next to a residential structure.  227EN arrived on scene and crews from 227 & 225 quickly extinguished the fire.

Early Friday morning station 227 responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a van into a structure. PHPD as well as medical units from Penn Hills and Plum arrived on scene and confirmed structural damage of the house but with no injuries. Crews from 227 forced entry into the home which upon investigation was determined to be vacant. Utility companies as well as the Penn Hills FIre Marshall were requested on scene. The van was later removed and all units returned back in service.

Shortly before 7:30 PM Wednesday, stations 225 and 227 were alerted for a two (2) vehicle accident with one (1) person or reportedly still trapped. While en-route, 227 Rescue received the update of police were on scene confirming one (1) female still inside the vehicle, but was uninjured. Crews arrived on scene and immediately stabilized the SUV and quickly popped the drivers door within five (5) minutes of starting extrication. Upon gaining access, EMS quickly took over patient care and crews stood by until the vehicle was removed.

On Monday, Station 122 was alerted for a vehicle over a hillside with entrapment and possible ejection. Chief 122 added 304 and 137. 227RQ was clearing drill and offered assistance and was on scene in 4mins. Crews began to go to work stabilizing the vehicle. Two, 16′ ladders were used to safely get responders down the hillside. The patient was removed from the vehicle and loaded into a stokes basket. A pulley system was set up to bring the patient up the hill. The patient was loaded into the ambulance and transported to a local trauma center. Churchill PD are investigating the cause of the accident.
