2729 Reiter Rd – Residential Structure Fire

On Friday night, Stations 223, 226 and 227 were alerted for a reported residential structure fire. EMS arrived on scene reporting heavy smoke showing and extreme heat on the first floor of the house. Crews arrived on scene and located the fire in the living room and made a quick knock down. Extensive overhaul was performed to locate and extinguish all hot spots. Crews operated on scene for about an hour. Great work to all.

6633 Saltsburg Rd – Commercial Structure Fire

Friday afternoon around 1:11pm, Stations 222, 223, 226 and 227 were alerted for a possible commercial structure fire. Police arrived on scene confirming heavy smoke showing. 223 Assistant arrived on scene and took command reporting a fire in the electrical room.The fire was able to be knocked down with an extinguisher. 226 Engine stood by the hydrant and 222 Engine set up ventilation.

8000-Blk Nadine Rd – Vehicle Over Hill

On Wednesday morning Stations 221, 222, 227 were alerted for a school bus over a hill with unknown occupants in the 8000-Blk of Nadine Rd.  AC911 received addition reports that all occupants were out of the vehicle.  221EN arrived on scene and confirmed, all units were cancelled.

733 E. Railroad Ave – Residential Structure Fire

At around 5:45 p.m. Sunday, 227 Rescue was called to a working house fire in Verona for filling air cylinders. 227 Rescue responded and set up a filling station, 227 Truck responded shortly after and set up for aerial operations due to poor structural conditions inside. Crews from Penn Hills, Verona and Oakmont worked for multiple hours to bring the fire under control and overhaul. Great work to all crews to minimize the extent of the fire. No injuries were reported.

581 Guylyn Dr – MVA with multiple vehicles on fire

Around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Stations 226 and 227 were alerted for a multi-vehicle accident with one vehicle on fire. 226 Engine arrived on scene with 2 vehicles fully engulfed in the driveway of a residence and stretched an attack line and began suppression. 226 Chief also requested station 223 to be added to the call. 227 Rescue arrived shortly after and pulled a second attack line off 226 Engine and assisted with suppression and overhaul. Crews operated and made a quick knock down of the fire.

11200 block Frankstown Road – MVA with rollover and entrapment

At around 7:10 p.m. Saturday, Stations 222 and 227 were alerted for a vehicle rollover with possible entrapment in the 11200 block of Frankstown Road. 227 Chief arrived on scene confirming rollover and two (2) patients entrapped. 227 Rescue arrived on scene and began stabilizing and extricating patients. All patients were quickly and successfully extricated and transferred to EMS care.

Company Banquet – 2 Celebrate Membership Milestone

Last Night, Station 227 went out of service for the evening to celebrate its 65th anniversary & annual banquet. Members & guests were able to enjoy a stress free evening without worrying about fire calls. Attendance awards for 35% (241 calls or more of the 687) were given to FF Joey Hankins, FF Larry Zamora, FF Nick Hudek, LT Tom Kutcher, Ast Chief JP Davis, Chief Bill Jeffcoat. President Kraig Pipes was awarded with a 25 Years of Service Award. And Chief Bill Jeffcoat was awarded with a 15 Years of Service Award. Thank You to all the members and guests for attending. 1511 Universal Road – MVA into house with entrapment

Around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Stations 226 and 227 were alerted for a vehicle into a house with a gas line sheared. Police arrived on scene confirming vehicle into the house and an active gas leak and entrapment. Crews arrived on scene and secured the gas line, stabilized vehicle and extricated the patient. Units stayed on scene to assist with lighting until vehicle was removed from the house.

Allegheny River Blvd @ Nadine Rd – Vehicle rollover with entrapment

At 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, Stations 221, 222, and 227 were alerted for a vehicle rollover with entrapment on Allegheny River Blvd near Nadine Rd. Police and EMS arrived on scene to confirm rollover with a pole sheared and find multiple patients entrapped. Rescue personnel arrived on scene and stabilized the vehicle and extricated the patients.

344 Rodi Road – MVA with possible entrapment

On Thursday morning, Stations 222, 223 and 227 were alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment in front of the Dunkin Donuts. Units arrived to find one vehicle on the hillside, the driver unable to get out due to the vehicle being unstable. Crews stabilized the car and assisted the uninjured driver out of the vehicle.
